Many of you may have heard or seen the announcement recently through social media but just in case you didn’t, Urban Petals has a brand new website! I am so excited that it is finally done and I hope you love it as much as I do. The new website is www.urbanpetalsllc.com.
There are gorgeous new weddings in the Portfolio section for you to see…. click here to view the Portfolio.
There’s also a new About section in case you are curious how I got started on this crazy and amazing flower journey…
And…another new part of the website which I’m super excited about is the Class Schedule. I will be hosting several workshops between now and the end of the year. My goal is to provide affordable, hands-on classes for people of all ages to enjoy. I have people tell me all the time that they have always wanted to learn how to design flowers. Now is your chance and no experience is needed. For a complete list of the upcoming classes, click here. You can also register online for the classes through the user-friendly (hopefully!!) registration page located here. Grab a group of friends and make a party out of it! The first class in coming up fast on Saturday, November 8, and space has already begun to fill up.
I really hope enjoy you enjoy using the new website and feel free to share it with your family and friends! 99% of my business comes from referrals from friends like you. So thank you for continuing to help Urban Petals grown!

Sarah & John were married at High Hampton Inn in Cashiers, North Carolina. From the second I met Sarah, I just knew I was going to love working with her. The happy couple exchanged their vows Mother’s Day weekend, surrounded by friends and family, in an outdoor ceremony on the front lawn of the mountain resort. The ceremony overlooked the lake and a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The reception was held in the clubhouse overlooking the golf course. The day was perfect.
Sarah gave me a fair amount of creative freedom within her color scheme of coral, white, green, with accents of cantaloupe and lemon. In order to coordinate with the bridesmaid’s coral dresses and the groomsmen’s seersucker suits and bow ties, I used coral peonies, David Austin Juliet garden roses, raspberry ranunculus, scabiosa flowers, fluffy white roses, berries, white peonies, and yellow parrot tulips (just to name a few)! To finish off the bridal bouquet, I wrapped the bouquet stems in lush ribbons hand-selected for Sarah in New York City, and added a cascading satin & velvet ribbon treatment.
I also fell in love with the centerpieces Sarah selected for the reception. Each table had a lush arrangement in a gold footed vases featuring peonies, roses, ranunculus, queen anne’s lace, tulips, feverfew, mixed greenery, and finished with blooming honeysuckle vine, and clematis vine, surrounded by candles. Sarah also requested an arrangement in memory of the groom’s mother incorporating peppermint carnations which were her favorite flower. It was such a sweet gesture to honor the memory of John’s mother. Sarah’s thoughtfulness of the guests was reflected throughout the day.
Special thank to Mark Lopez Photography for these beautiful pictures from the wedding!!

Coming Up Next: the Living Picture Class. This just might be my favorite workshop of the year!! It’s coming up on Saturday, September 6, from 10 am – 12 pm. I’ll do a quick demonstration and then each participant will have the rest of the class time to design and plant a living picture to take home. The workshop will take place in my studio at the Taylors Mill (25 Mill Street, Suite 25, Taylors, SC 29687). The cost is $50 and includes all hardware, materials, and loads of succulents for you to create any design you can imagine.
To register, please sign up on the Urban Petals website here. Registration will close sooner that usual because the hardware and materials have to be special ordered. The deadline to register is August 30, 2014.
Living Pictures first captured my attention a couple of years ago and I’ve been in love with them ever since. My picture tends to be evolving, ever changing and I love tending to it! Right now it is blossoming and growing like crazy in my greenhouse.
Here are a few of my favorite living pictures:
Don’t forget to sign up for the class here. I’m looking forward to sharing my love of succulents and designs with you all and I can’t wait to see what amazing designs you come up with!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful weekend!! The topic for today is “terrarium”. Terrariums are a lovely way to fill your home or office with plants in a confined space. I’ll be hosting a class on Thursday, August 14, from 7-8:30 pm, showing you how to construct your very own terrarium and then you will make your own to take home and enjoy. All the materials and supplies will be provided for you. For more information, please click here to get all the details and also to register for the class.
Have a productive and great week!
