As I look forward to 2013, I can’t help but first be greatful for all the blessings from this past year. 2012 was full of surprises and changes. Urban Petals was founded. My husband followed his dream and opened a Port City Java cafe in our hometown. I took classes in Atlanta, GA, designed 6 weddings, met new “flower” friends across the country, and truly discovered my passion for flowers.
Thank you to each one of you who has trusted me to design something beautiful for you. I truly hope I never stop feeling completely honored and humbled each time a bride chooses me to design her wedding!! Thank you to my friends and family who continue to encourage, support and help me as Urban Petals keeps on growing. And to those of you who leave comments on my blog, THANK YOU!! It’s nice to know people actually read what I write.
I think it’s also important to remember where we have come from and learn from our experiences, regardless of whether they were successes, mistakes or outright failures. As I reflect back on my experiences with Urban Petals this year, it’s fun to see improvement in my designing skills. The first picture below is an arrangement which I created at Thanksgiving 2011 for my Mom. The 2nd picture is from my photo shoot at Thanksgiving this year. I can’t wait to see what next year’s arrangement looks like!!
